Sydney Single Parents has over 1,000 activities a year in it's program for members. An activity on almost every day of the week. The majority of functions are strictly for members only, however there are a few open singles functions held each year such as harbour cruises and singles dances. Each month our branches host 'Introduce a Friend Nights' where members can bring a single friend who may be considering joining SSP. SSP is run by the volunteer single parent members for the members. There are many volunteers who help create this wonderful and diverse program. Helping as a volunteer is a great way to meet people and make new friends. Help yourself help others by becoming involved in SSP.
The Sydney Single Parents parties are very popular - held most weekends and hosted at a different member's home each time - music, dancing, mixing and mingling. Gents bring drinks and ladies bring the eats. Regular weekly activities include dinners, social tennis, bush walks as well as coffee and chat. There are a variety of other activities including BBQs, Soup Nights, Pasta Nights, Music Themed Nights, Wine & Dine, etc. Some dances and harbour cruises. Special monthly functions include Live Theatre Nights. There are a few adult retreat week-ends each year including Mudgee or Hunter Valley Winery Trips.
Sydney Single Parents has children's activities that include cinema, ten pin bowling, picnics, mini-golf, beach days, amusements, sports centres, indoor rock climbing, sausage sizzles, kids discos, Reptile Park, Aquarium, and more. The special annual bus excursions to Jamberoo, Jindabyne, Thredbo and Smiggins Hole Snow Skiing are popular. Each year there is a school holiday camp and Christmas Holidays Camp which are reasonably priced and very popular with the kids.
